Day Breakers

The bats are like damn jack in boxes, popping up out of nowhere every damn 5 mins. along with other stuff, so not every suspense scene does have a bad guy popping out, so you get to observe the audience jump constantly.
On the plus side Edward doesn't sparkle.

DayBreakers is quite an interesting concept with a few nice ties to today's world, such as the TV news proclaiming Starvation in 3rd world countries, and the tie bewteen how we treat animals as food, and how the vampires treat humans.
It was also pretty cool how the vampires blew up when shot, not just when they tried to get a tan in the sun =) though the most effective use of this was when they were being shot at in the dark and so every time someone hit one it would light up the others slowly advancing.

The make up on the sub dwellers and half the others is pretty damn amazing (and the CG/FX). The sub-dwellers were more realistic then all the explosions.
Not to mention there were some good actors too, key one being Willem Dafoe =)

Anyway I'm bad a reviews and stuff, so...
JUST GO SEE IT
It's a good movie, and makes up for all the bad vampire movies there have been lately *coughtwilightcough*

The Awkward Flag

So things have been busy busy with hand ins etc, and of course I've managed to get sick again, but it appears we did reasonably well for 48Hr film fest! With our film Love Me Deadly (Yeah we got Romantic Comedy -_-) So now on to other things!
I'm currently working on my handin for wearable tech, but have run into a few issues of the rest of the parts still not showing up and we've been told we wont get them til Monday!!! with hand in on Tuesday, things are gunna be a little crazy, but so long as the basis of everything else is done, should be all G. Still looking for a model though if anyone is keen!?
Also I learnt the Awkward flag yesterday, after Craig said "We got busy" instead of we were busy, as to why he hadn't been massaging my shoulder for physio, though ti was kind of one of those you had to be there moments, as they way each person reacted was what made it funny =P anyway, I should hurry up, got work soon ><" then to Studio 9 for more work! So come hang out!

Pirates of Coney Island

Pirates of Coney Island is a comic written by Rick Spears and drawn by Vasilis Lolos, with Nick Filardi as main Inker and Becky Cloonan doing touch ups etc that in started late 2006.
The inking and over-all style is quite Pop-Art looking, like you'd find older comics but with a cooler colour scheme, which varies slightly depending on what each comics over all "mood" is and all the main characters have a reasonably Punky look to them.
Each comic's Credit page has one of the character's introducing it in their own way, including the 4th issue where there is the "How to Slap a B*tch" tutorial.
It's an interesting comic in which the first couple of pages, the main characters eye gets stabbed out by the leader of "The Cherries" , but hey, at least he gets an eye-patch! Which is a good thing when he teams up with "The Pirates" Who like to steal cars in a pirate fashion (driving up next to the car, boarding it, and removing the owners/driver).
Though the story has more then a bunch of kids stealing cars and beating each other up.
So far I have found only one problem with this comic... I'm missing the final 3! (6, 7 and 8)
Anyone got the others? =)

Yes that's right I've finally had my back looked into, and it turns out I've screwed up the muscle on my left shoulder which is where most the problem is, I currently see David (Otago 4th year Physio Student) once a week, so hopefully it'll start to improve soon =)

Vampires and America VS Vampires and England

Basically, Americans have made vampires "cool" at the cost of making them different to how they were originally portrayed(and in the case of Twilight, I believe Uncool), the lecture mainly goes over the lore of vampires and their appearances in literature, theater etc.
It's being held in the shire where I lived before NZ =O

Repetition is boring!
You know where you've written the bit of code that needs to be on the other eight pages so you have to copy paste, gets so monotonous! PHP can be pretty bad for that dependning on what you're doing, there's only so much CSS can help reduce!

For SiS I've done a rough cut for Ep1, excluding the Max/Rav scene, which has been put under a folder called "Craig's Problem" as they failed to use any sheet and it goes on for like an hour I swear! Maybe extra footage for the DVD? Haha

So FINALLY! I have have managed to watch "Repo! The Genetic Opera", Since first seeing the trailer sometime last year.
A fantastic movie, though I'm not normally one for Gore stuff, as the director of Saw made it,
But some of the stuff was plasticy enough not to worry me too much =D
Anyway, I thought I'd share my fav song from it

go to Tiger Bill's!
Ant (my Welsh ex-drum teacher =D) found bits and pieces from that site to help teach me

The arch/des "ball" is this on this Friday, "Out of this World" is the theme (or "Onto this wo kid" as the poster looks xD but it is a cool design)

So yesterday was first day of class, and was feeling quite sick. But I still went to 231 (Digital Surface, Form and Space) to check it out in the afternoon, though I've picked 232/285(2D Game Design) and wont be attending again.
Today was 212 (Experience Design) looks like it'll be fun.
Lecture and first class tomorrow morn for 141, hopefully I'll do better this time, but I'm not sure what it'll be like... Projects look exactly the same, but so long as I get my mask, I'll be fine down stairs working in the workshop. Though I'm still tossing up what material to use, I had fun with Jelly last time, so I want something cool like that again, Liquids and rubbers are normally best for me to work with over dusty stuff -_- but this year 141 requires a Flickr account! So I've dusted mine off after remembering what log in it is so it's all up and ready!
Also 232 will be on this alot as it requires a blog, so should prob'ly just use this one!

You know their latest series Back to Earth (IX), was a bit of a let down, Series V Quarantine will forever be my favourite along with the first series, still, it's better then nothing!
For you clueless people out there I'm talking about Red Dwarf, one of the best British comedy series around! I've been watching it since I was... well... since I was born? Well before we moved to NZ atleast! And I was 5 then... we had the first V series on VHS! Series I first was aired approx. 1988.

Anyway

So I've started updating my site, so anything but the index page looks a bit out of whack
and we got the SwapDiv working on Conan's site, so we'll be doing EVERYTHING possible tomorrow to finish it, being the weekend I don't have work so it's all good for me!
But Criag will ahve work at somepoint and leave me to it.

Uni starts again on Monday

SO we got a new desk for Craig's computer, and taking this time to "re-arrange" the flat and what not.
My sewing Machine has it's own desk now! but far away from power-points -_-"
But this place looks like a Hurricane went through it,
Couldn't do the website today due to Craig having a floating shift again, and he needs to fix the mess he made of the CSS! Then I can try and figure out why the trigger code doesn't work o.O

So I realized I haven't linked you to anything cool these days:

BRING BACK SAVAGE GARDEN

They always make the world all warm and fuzzy inside
Crash 'n' Burn, is about the whole knowing you're not alone sort of stuff and that it's okay to break down once in awhile as you've got support around you,
It's a very cool video clip, even if there's a little "Epileptic Fit" in the making from watching it.
It's pretty neat the whole doing sign language to the chorus at the end and the little messages throughout it. Give it a watch, it's only 4ish mins!
Take time out from your day of work, eat, sleep, and live a little for a change! hehe

Speaking of which, I'm hungry.

So I'm finally following The Winding City and TWC: Sarah Twitters, and the Setting it Straight one.
'Bout time huh?
It's freezing cold up in the lab currently, and I've taken some time off of normal work to make my timetable xD
Takes a bit to load, and brings up work first, then after awhile when you're rolled-over the image it brings up Uni times. it links bck to Craig and Mines website via our logos, and also the MediaZone site via the "Digital Media" words up the top.
Craig's trying to get RS feeds to work on the website, I'm staring at the banner and how sh*te it looks and hope Tanya will make a better one.
I'm also going to fix up the paypal link, as it looks ok but needs some work =p
well, better get to it, after a quick side mission out to the corridor...

Wakoopa

As you can tell by my widget, I've finally INSTALLED Wakoopa, been signed up since I discovered it earlier this year, but never installed.
Quite a nifty thing
I've also updated my "Internets"
Deleting useless social networking accounts etc
And went on Bebo for the first time in a long time, so that's why it's on my Wakoopa
and as you can see from the photoshop, We've still been doing Conan's website, just waiting on a response to the layout as me and Craig seem to remember it differently, so waiting for confirmation on which way!
I'm also thinking of re-doing my website, but not sure how...
Any ideas?

Yay! I transferred this blog to my current account rather then my old one =p
Also, doing we're doing Conan's website today with the updates
And "Teh Duke" is writing a few scripts again
Practicing for if we decided to do 2 day plays, hopefully *finger crossed*
For those who don't know what that is, think of it as the drama equivalent to 48hr film festival

Snapper fish

So went off to Conan's yesterday, and was the traditional "fashionably Late" due to some confusion in the flat, but went through the script a few times before everyone else left, then on to the website.
So after that session, we'll do the touch ups on Monday, and finalize everything, do coding etc all before uni starts again
Fun.
Also, I'm glad how we discovered you can do multiple people on Snapper cards, I like them a lot more now
Especially seeing how much it is to get a bus out to Conan's anyway

Well not quite, but it is the holidays!
So Conan's website is number one on the priorities
Last night was fun out at Wallaceville House for their Saturday night live show "Til Death do us part"
Where you are "guests" at a wedding, either the bogan grooms side, or rich bride's side, throughout the night you learn information about each character and are then later left to decided who murdered one of the characters and why. There is audience participation involved throughout, and, the detective goes over each tables answers to "who did it""their motives" and "how they did it" the best/correct answer wins, and that table gets a free bottle of wine.
Anyway
As most of you know
Alice in Wonderland photos have now been released for Tim Burton's up and coming film,
but also, thanks to twitter, there have been a few extra "Deaths" along with Micheal Jackson this weekend, read more about it at the end of this article, Here

Must think of a topic for my essay, seeing it's due 1pm ish tomorrow o.O
211 went well I think, our download seemed most popular.

So what have I been doing? 201! As it was due yesterday and I was WAY WAY behind
but I got an A+, so it pays off, I hope (yes we have results already, Anne was going away
So for 211? I spent the last 3-4hours playing around, arguing, and eventually sketching my 3 people for my project
A Drummer Boy, Vickie, and Anon, but when we emailed a scan to myself, only Drummer Boy appeared into my inbox, hmmm, so back downstairs I go!
My Idea is vague so far (I've changed it 3 times so far) but I have the cartoons to represent my 3 videos, so I'll go from there right?

also, Flash Back to being a kid at primary school when they had all that pop music, when I was listening to Bloodhound Gang and Blink182 whilst my class mates were listing to Westlife and Backstreet boys, they listened to spice girls and I listened to the awesome Danish band Aqua! If you didn't know about their supposed come back tour in 2008 in Denmark only, they've released their newest song with a video clip "Back to the 80's" (In HiDef too xD), aparently they've only created 3 new tracks as they enjoyed being back together or something, either way, ENJOY!
